I figured as much since most of our 890 boards are pretty well maxed out running 6 core CPUs overclocked... just add on 2 more cores and figure the additional power requirements out... Chances are that the 890FX boards will not handle the 8 core AMD CPU too well. I predict a lot of people blowing up their 890 boards with the new processors and overclocking.

So if this is true I assume we with the 890FX chipsets could probably run the 8130p but not O/C it well (if at all).
O/Cing a bulldozer 6 core CPU with 890FX sounds like a more realistic proposition in that case. Guess I'll have to "settle" for a 6 core if what you say is true but it's not like many programs can take advantage of 6+ cores anyway.
