distilled+silver coil=gunk??

Thread Starter
I've been running my loop for about 5 month now distilled water plus silver kill coil, all blocks are nickel plated copper, everything was cleaned with distilled before install, so today I decided to change something so I dissembled everything and my kill coil looks like it has some sort of tar on it, so I took my cpu block apart and it has some greenish gunk in it, I was able to clean most of it with toothbrush but some still stuck between fins and it also has something which looks like oxidation in the corner, what is all of this? is there any easy way to clean entire loop because I don't really want to open up my gpu block and deal with that little oring plus this stuff probably also inside my rad as well, and I just noticed some green dots stuck on the res, poured some vinegar+distilled and gonna leave it and see if that will get rid of it...

Looks like radiator flux to me. I'd rinse/scrub the blocks in distilled water. The next time you open the blocks they will be pretty clean because your block already filtered the crap out of the rads.

Use PT nuke along with distilled and silver coil. That should solve your problem.

Greenish could be algae unless your using green dyed coolant. If you are using green dyed coolant, that is the problem, If not PT Nuke will cure that.

I hope it just it but I cleaned rad pretty good I think, used boiling water, distilled, alcohol, plus mine is blackIce which should be pretty clean by default as I heard

You can get deposits like that if you use too much PT Nuke but if you haven't had that in the loop then it could be plasticiser, contaminated water, dye/additive separation or flux. Black Ice rads seem to be pretty good for no flux but they have a hell of a lot of tiny paint flakes that take a lot of swilling out.
