Best GPU for i2500k system @1080p

Thread Starter
These will be the approximate specs for my upcoming mid-high range rig:
i5 2500k (will be ocing)
Thermaltake Frio Cooler (this is compatible with the 1165 socket, can i still use it for the 1155??)
Asus P8P67-M PRO mobo
4/6 gb 1600mhz
750w psu
I will only be gaming at 1900 x 1080 on my tv. What gpu would you guys suggest? Would it be overkill to go crossfire/sli?
Oh and btw i need my system to rock bf3.
Lots of discussion/speculation please!

What kind of money are you trying to spend?
560ti is a good option $$/performance wise.
Or a 6950.

1x580.

That is all you will need.It will give you maximium performance. Absolutely NO need for the 3GB variety at 1080p. If you have a tight budget, then a 570/6970.

yeh the 580 would be out of my budget im afraid.
I guess it would be a 6970/570 leaving me with no money, or a 1gb 6950/560ti now and then another around the bf3 release. Presumably the xfire/sli would give me better performance? or would it be overkill at this rez?

I would recommend the 570, is perfect for that resolution and of course the option the upgrade later.

560 sli wouldn't be overkill. Especially for BF3. 2x560 will perform better than a single 580.

So that may be your better option, just depends what kind of performance you want in the future!

Not the same price... At least not in AU.

The Phantom is a nice card and if you get a 570 you can upgrade to two for even greater performance.

I'd recommend the 570 for future proofing. But the 560 Sli will be sufficient.
