First thoughts: New DAC for speaker system

I promised somewhere that I would give my review on getting a DAC for my speaker system. I don't know if anybody's interested but no matter, here it is. The system I'm using is computer > Beresford Caiman DAC > Genelec 8020B.

So, I picked up the DAC today and it is really impressive. The sound is now much more pronounced and much much more clear. High frequency sounds come out clean and the small details can be heard easily. Bass sounds quite the same as it did with onboard but then again I don't have a subwoofer. I don't know if it was worth the 300€ I spent on it but there really is a big gain. I'm glad I bought it Any thoughts?

Edit: For those who didn't know DAC stands for digital-analog-converter so it's kind of a soundcard, an external one. Going to add pictures this evening.

Edit2: And here they are

I'm glad you're happy with your purchase. It's always nice to actually hear a significant improvement when you drop tons of money on audio equipment. Sorry for going a bit off topic here, but how do you like those speakers?

The speakers are great for their size. They're perfect for computer speakers since I can fit them almost everywhere. Also they don't get hidden behind stuff like normally computer speakrs tend to because I have these small stands for them (about 20mm). And the sound.. Oh boy, I have tried them against large Yamaha speakers and my dad and I had to admit that Genelecs won the comparison. The bass is very tight and plays well and the sound is absolutely not clogged at all. They sound like large speakers but they aren't. I couldn't recommend these for bassheads or for those who are looking for a warm sound. But those who want real hifi Genelcs are the ones to get. In other words: I love them
