Shortsighted...

Where do you think Intel makes all the money that they then turn around and sink into R&D budget for CPU like Ivy Bridge and 3D transistors?

I will give you a hint...it is not from enthusiasts like us OCN members.

Bulldozer could be 3x faster than sandy bridge and AMD would still make more than 10x more money off of llano. And where does that money go... AMD's R & D budget so we enthusiasts get better tech. That is why this matters.

AMD will cut in to Intel's market share with llano in the mainstream... which the only market that matters for business.

EDIT: The benches matter to OEMs who want to be able to advertise the best price/performance products to sell to the mainstream customer.

Source doesn't seem to work. Anyone else having this issue?

Even though I can't see the results, I know Llano is going to destroy SB in the graphics department. What this means for me (and a LOT of people I know) is that laptops that can perform decently gaming will be MUCH cheaper. My $400 laptop can play only the weakest of games, even though it's a dual core 2.2. The integrated GMA just sucks.

I know three people so far that plan on buying Llano laptops pretty much as soon as they can. I think AMD is going to make quite a leap in terms of market share.

Come on, seriously?

You are complaining about what? Oh yeah, people being happy about Llano results.
You are also saying that because Llano's target is not your average OCNer, this is not huge news.
...
So yeah, I'll say it again: seriously?

Actually, the majority of consumer PC markets are satisfied by Penryn or Phenom CPU performance. Reaseach Intel and AMD's issue with "good enough" computing.

The high-end and server market are different though and do need more performance.
Once again...

Nice, can't wait to pick up a liano quadcore lappy

Now all we need are the gaming benchmarks that show the apu destroying sandybridge in gaming on a laptop for 500$ price range

You make some good points....

While these may be great for the typical user, aren't they the same people that usually buy the $50-100 graphics cards? If so, doesn't AMD risk cannibalizing some sales there?

Hopefully, I won't have to make some more tomorrow getting on AMD's case about a bulldozer delay... *nervous laugh*

Aside from that, we do know that they overclock to 4Ghz at under 1V

If these cpus oc significantly easier and/or higher than i3 2100.. that's pure win! xD
