Ultra Kaze gone rouge from Fan Controller? - Page 2

My Rheobus Extreme ran 2 Kaze 3000's just fine on one channel.
Just pay attention to wattage and amps and you're fine.

Currently the 2 stock 200mm fans with the case, and 2 ULTRA KAZE 120mm 3Krpm fans for the push/pull on my rad. I am thinking of keeping the stock fans on the stock fan controller, and using a new controller for the ultra kazes.

Good point, same voltage/rpm's! Thanks.

+1 Kaze Master. Is there any real difference between the KM-01/02 and the KS-01?

FC-5v2 seems to be taking the lead. I was leaning towards the scythe controllers because I can get them on Amazon for a fair price and cheap one day shipping! Looks like I need to practice patience for the better controller.

Well, for just the two fans, I'd be looking at a 4 chn 30w controller. Also gives you some room to add more fans in the future. There is some known issues with the Kaze 3K fans buzzing/clicking when used with certain brands of fan controllers. I may search for it, but you may find it quicker on your own.

Wow the FC5v2 is REALLY hard to find... wonder if my local MicroCenter has one in stock...

Thanks I'll poke around. So far they are great... I have plugged them into my psu directly with the splitter for the tach sensor lead going to the sys_1 and sys_2 headers so I can read RPM's... wish I could use speedfan to throttle them back for time being. Nothing in BIOS either.

i believe a 20w fan controller could provide enough for ultra kaze. (?)

[off topic, sorry] also my fc5 reads the ultra kaze full speed at around 28##rpm @ 13.0v is that normal?

Well my ultra kaze connected to my 12v lead off my PSU and the tach lead connected to my motherboard, I am getting readings of ~2.8k rpm's as well. I just figured its either the variance of +/- 10% or the resistance of them pushing/pulling air through the rad.

So after not being able to track down the FC5v2 online (except at frozen CPU for $75 without shipping...) I was in luck as the local Microcenter near me had ONE left in stock! Picked her up today, and threw it in. Works wonderfully. Knobs 2 and 4 both have a "stiff" feel to them.

Edit: Also, the knobs are kind of set in a weird position. At "0" they are at 11 o'clock, at "10" they are at 8 o'clock.
