ASUS M4A89GTD PRO: PCIe Layout Workaround? - Page 2

I'd come across this, too. I did not notice a performance difference on a 5850 between X8 and X16 (running the jumper card). I did not try running the jumper card in slot 2 with the card in slot 1, as I'd assumed it would make no difference. Either way it's not a big deal in the least, and I can live with a 1-2% performance decrease, and if I really need more power, then I'll just add another 5850.

I just noticed Asus have got another bios update ready for this board.

It's a test bios for bulldozer support

I noticed that over the weekend. However, no Bulldozer is to be found, at least for a couple months.

Good if full support follows though - will save me a mobo upgrade - every penny counts.

It will lack some of the power gating options for Bulldozer, but otherwise would supply enough power. It should be fine otherwise. However, I'm going to just keep the Thuban in mine, and be happy. Later on I'll probably get a 990FX board and Bulldozer, provided they are any good vs. a Standby Bridge.

Agree. My gaming's all good on my current cpu too. I'll likely look into getting bulldozer some time next year. It's just nice to know theres am3+ support on my current board - I like to have options.
Having said that I am tempted by the crosshair v
