I bought the LED version of this for the same price last week!
I bought it for my mom. I am also interested in how it looks compared to my LCD TV/Monitor as LED is supposed to be better though I love my LCD TV.

There was also a 23" Dell LCD monitor that was also on sale for $10 more. I did a lot of research and typed "Dell vs Acer" in Google and Acer seems to be loved by the people who own them. Their dead-pixel policy sucks, though.

I haven't opened it yet. Newegg gives you 30 days to RMA it should it have ONE dead pixel. I confirmed it with a rep. That wasn't always the case as before it had to be 8 dead pixels.

I say go for it if you want 23". Some people says that the difference between LCD & LED are not noticeable but I wouldn't know...YET!

LCD = Liquid Crystal Display
LED = Light Emitting Diode

LEDs are used just as a backlight. In most LCD monitors cold cathode fluorescent lamps (CCFL) serve this purpose. LEDs are becoming more popular in monitors because they allow for a thinner profile and they don't consume as much power.

Really I think you can only tell the difference between LCD and LED if you have exactly the same setups right next to each other and even then it's pretty close. Go into an American store with a big TV section - I've been in one where one half of a wall was all LCD and the other half all LED and I could tell the difference, in brightness and contrast the LED wins IMO but just barely.
If you bought one or the other I doubt you'd regret it and want the other one.

It did work, but the code expired quickly yesterday since a lot of people used it. I believe they ran out of the funds for the promotion.

Yeah, I read that. Hopefully it comes back soon.

I'm gonna try my LED monitor later and tell y'all if I see a difference.
