No tach on more expensive Swiftech D5... why?

Thread Starter
So, a lot of the D5-style pumps have a tachometer that you can plug into a controller or a motherboard to auto-shutdown the PC if it stops working. Why doesn't the Swiftech have it? From a technical standpoint, I mean? I know there's a variable speed control on the pump, but it would seem to me that a tachometer is beneficial.

Is the tachometer NOT as beneficial as I'm thinking it is since there is a variable speed controller? Or...?

No reason execpt lower cost to Swiftech.

Note that all D5-like pumps are made by rebrands of a Laing D5.
Once again...

Interesting. I just thought it was odd that the less expensive pump had it, and the more expensive one did not. Thansk for the input guys. +Rep. smile.gif

My swiftech 655-b came with a tach wire, only about a year old now. So the vario 655s do not come with one? Shame on you swiftech...
