Aren't there ways to download a WU and start working on it while you upload another?

So that would remedy the massive upload time problem?

Side note, wish I had something that could utilize the new units.

What brutis was referring to was the loss of points due to the time the upload takes. The points are not calculated by Stanford until the upload is completed. A 5 hour upload coud mean the loss of several thousand's of points.

The V7 client has an option for downloading a new WU at 90-99%. I don't use V7 so I don't know how well it works.

Just a little update from me: After leaving my PC alone and setting it to -smp 8, my TPF went down to around 55 minutes (88000 PPD) from 66-70 minutes.

Frame times are longer on the second by about 30 seconds so
should get about 708k for this one when it drops in 2 hours.
I hate to think what my upload time would be since I'm on DSL.

I'm getting a TPF of 51:13 on my 2600k @ 4.7GHz for about 98K PPD. Assuming it doesn't fail, I should get a 350K point drop on Thursday morning.
