ive never had an issue with AMD drivers b4.
infact, ive had more issues with nvidia drivers (but i had a slightly defective GTX275 and it completley bottlenecked my other in SLi). other than that, ive had good experiences with both companies and i like them both

what do u mean 'OC suppressions'? just use afterburner and enable unofficial OCing or use saphire trixx for OCing.
btw if u dont want ur 5830 and ur willing to generously give it to a very poor fellow 5830 owner then i'll take it off ur hands

btw im NOT an ATI fanboy ive owned a good bit of nvidia cards (just 9400GT, 8800GT SLi, GTX 275 SLi, GTS 250)
jus saying before i get bashed.

I actually never had a ATI driver problem. Only reason why I currently have a nvidia card is because it better at folding with decent performace. The moment they make ATI as good or better at folding my carcase is going back to ati since I just like them more idk why lol.

Well though we might be off topic I will respond off topic in reply.

You know it's always the same argument from which ever side you come from. If your an ATI owner and have issues, you post & vent, if your an Nvidia owner and have issues, your post & vent. Sometiems your so fustrated you change sides. Both sides have issues of some sort. Neither is perfect. Letting it go is harder.

There are some common trends from both companies and when more people have issues than those that do not with certain things, dosen't mean they aren't true. For those that aren't having them it's hard to understand.

Then people post off topic and just say thnigs that aren't truthful anymore because they feel offended. AMD drivers are bad or Nvidia cards run hot, when the truth of the matter is AMD drivers have improved as of late and Nvidia 500 series cards don't run hot anylonger or as power hungry.

The one thing that both sides need to understand is that on the AMD/ATI threads or the Nvidia threads we are going to vent or sound biased because it's the right area to do so. Can't hide the fact that it happened to us or how we feel.

I can see if somone was posting on the 'General Cards' forum and posted with bias reply that it would offend others. It's neutral territory and should remain without prejudice.

We need to let it go and don't feel offended. I myself have a hard time doing it sometimes and feel compelled to defend.

You can go over to the club threads from both sides and see that they are putting down the rival sometimes and it's to be expected. They are both guilty of doing it. They feel or have had issues and vent about them by posting biasly. It's obviously going to offend someone who dosen't agree or invested in that product being put down.

One trend I've noticed more so however is AMD fans really hate Nvidia fans talking about their cards even on Nvidia forums and more threads get closed on the Nvidia forum side because AMD fans coming over to flame war off topic on them. I'm being honest, just take a look down these threads.

After 3DFX was partially purchased by Nvidia and Voodoo cards were no longer due to 3DFX shutting down I switched to ATI. I kind of felt angry at Nvidia at the time even though it was purely STB technologies fault.

I currently switched over to Intel/Nvidia myself. I also just built a second AMD/AMD rig for my kids. I own both, I like both. I've had many issues with ATI and haven't owned Nvidia long enough to, but I'm sure I will some where down the line. Odds are it's bound to happen.

I'm can relate to this thread. When it came down to trying to find the best single one card solution, I went GTX 580 and couldn't be happier. It's better than an AMD 6970 and I wanted the most performance out of my one card regardless of any other argument.

I hope that this thread isn't another one that gets shut down. It's just one happy OP stating he's glad to be sporting a new Nvidia product and is happy with his purchase and those who may agree with him in reply.

No hate to AMD/ ATI fans but seriously ditch AMD and ATI and go for Intel and Nvidia. Champions choose Intel and Nvidia.

if you think NVIDIA has good drivers
look at 3dfx drivers
with sfft 1.6 we saw a 50% increase in performance with Point Sprites alone
geometry calculations also got a good boost

EDIT: SFFT 1.6 was released on 20/03/2011

Sold my 6950 for a 580. Can't wait till it gets here
I had no problem with the AMD card. Other than overclock limitations.
That should be the last thing I have to worry about with the MSI Lightning 580
