Summer computer ventilation?

so it's hot as all hell up were I live and my computer throws off so much heat when I game that it raises my room temp to unbearable temps....I was wondering if I could take dryer duct hose, put it over my exhaust vents then put it out the window. Would that work? or would it increase my computers internal temps cause it couldn't exhaust properly?

I'd need to go buy some hose as I don't have spare lying around that's why I'm asking first.

I don't think so because there's already going to be hot air outside making it even hotter. Just take a desk fan or something and face it into your case or any of the intakes. Thats what I'm doing down here and its fine for now.

You could always get some of them dual window fans and have them pushing out all the hot air in your room out the window. They are pretty cheap and help a lot.

but it should be blowing my exhaust air out not sucking the hot air outside in right? I just thought that maybe the exhaust wouldn't be as efficient if it had to go through the tube...

I have recently done such a duct project. Here:http://www.overclock.net/air-cooling...ttle-duct.html

With my limited time in playing with my little duct, my experience is that the effectiveness of such a duct depends on:-

a. the power of a fan positioned at the 'exit' end of the duct
Comment: I suggest you to choose a fan with CFM rated at higher than the CFM of the exhaust case fan. This will ensure no hot air backlog

b. the diameter of the duct
Comment: use at least the same size as you exhaust case fan.

c. the length of the duct
Comment: I feel that a good powerful 120mm fan can pull air through a length of about 2 meters. If you use longer duct, you will need to install 'intermediate' fans along the length of the duct, perhaps one fan per every 1.5 meters.

(And I think you can do a better job to block off the window than just using a blanket as in the video.)

thanks guess I'll try it out. I'll only lose $26 if it doesn't workout anyway...

Wouldn't your window be open causing your room to be even hotter?
