Greetings from the cold landscapes of Hobart!

Thread Starter
Hi all,

I've been reading random reviews and information from this site for a while now which I found through google, so thought I'd finally join up and have a look around =)

I'm planning a "Big-Bang" upgrade (shipping is going to sting...) to the following specs (so far... seems to change daily as I keep reading up on parts)

CPU: Intel i7 2600k
GPU: GTX 590
RAM: 8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3
PSU: Enermax Revolution85+ 1020W
Mobo: Asus P8Z68-V Pro
OS HDD: 120GB Vertex 3 SSD
Cooling: XSPC Rasa 750 RX240 (possibly RX360, not too sure yet)
Monitor: BenQ 2410T 23.6" LED 120Hz
Chasis: Coolermaster HAF X

Let me know your thoughts. I originally planned on getting the X58 chipset with an i7 960 and an Asus Rampage III Formula, however I discovered the Sandy Bridge CPU's shortly after and was amazed at the performance people could get out of these little buggers.

Welcome to OCN!

Looks like you'll have a fantastic build. Have fun with SB. Personally, however, I would go with a fully custom loop mostly because I don't have a lot of faith in XSPC's 750 pump. I recommend browsing some threads over in the Water Cooling section to see what parts are popular for builds like yours.

It's muggy today...

i'd go with 580 SLI over a 590

The trouble with 580SLI is it will cost more. $900 for a 590 or $1000+ for 2x 580's.

Thanks for the tip t-ramp. I'll mosey on over to the watercooling section
