I think games would run better on cheap graphics cards.

Wait until the new PS4 and Xbox 720 arrive.
They will be as powerful as a PC.
They should aim for internet browsing and gaming with their OS.
I'm 90% sure microsoft will make Xbox 720 Windows 8 ready.
A gaming personal computer for around $500-$600.

Something I've noticed about "closed communities" like OCN is that you guys tend to be very biased and make wild assumptions.

Yes, there are a lot of kids that play on consoles
Yes, there are a lot of morons on consoles

WHY? Because it's easy. That shouldn't be bashed, it should be accepted. PC Gaming isn't for everyone, its an enthusiast's platform.

Do developers put REAL ideas into REAL games? Of course they do, It doesn't matter the platform... Most devs REALLY care about their games and (ignoring a few major, hit titles) most games are generally made with good intentions.. No different than the PC platform.

But did you ever consider that sometimes people just want to play games and not treat them as a hobby (focusing on all aspects of building up to playing those games?)

For me specifically, someone who's taking on classes and a full time job I just don't have the time to sit down and learn the ins and outs of every specific niche game you just like. I don't have TIME to see if it performs well on my computer or to see what drivers are best. I don't have the time to search for what patch works the best or what .cfg edit makes my gaming the best or why punkbuster keeps auto-kicking me, or why hl.exe keeps crashing...

Currently console gaming is much more favorable to me BECAUSE I just want to play and that's it, I buy a $20 game on ebay and save loads of money (or hell, I could pay full price at the store). I come home and turn on my console, my receiver and my television and BAM. Instant gaming and exactly what I set out to do without "wasting" my time.

Just my 2 cents, you guys frustrate me, Each platform has it's own merits. PC gamers aren't snobs (Though this thread definitely makes you come off as them...) and console gamers aren't all 16 year old CoD kids playing after school. Get over it.

We would have the same bland samey shooters we have now. The only difference would be a hell of a lot more of them would be tech demos trying to pass themselves off as a game, made so self-important people can justify spending more on a computer than most people spend on their car. For those of us who don't have credit limits that would make Bill Gates jealous we would have....exactly what we have now. Valve and Bethesda would be offering us games we could use to relax in between bouts of trying to get the AAA mainstream stuff to do anything at all.

In an ideal world it would mean we get some damn innovation, we get games that look like Crysis yet only require the same hardware a Source game does, we'd have a lot more single player, we'd have a much more varied multiplayer experience(I wouldn't be able to say Call of Battlefield: Source with a straight face, for example), DRM would be a thing of the past, devs would release SDKs that let us mod the game until it forgets who made it, and they'd be priced according to what they're worth as opposed to the current "We don't care if it's 15 bucks worth of soggy bread, you're paying 60 bucks and you had best like it" BS.

Consoles would be priced much higher and released more often or else forced to compete in different areas. There's no way consoles can keep up with the performance of PC.

Yea I agree with you. There are casuals on all platforms.
Ever hear of the sims? Definition of casual PC gaming. The assumptions made in this thread are kinda funny, so I do agree with you.
