There aren't any reviews of the H100 out there yet. D14 is great, H100 isn't out yet, so I'm not sure when you're planning on doing this, but if those are your two options and you want to push your CPU to 4GHz relatively soon, I'd recommend just picking up the D14.

As others have said, if you're up for it, grab a RS240 kit. That will likely outperform both of those options, but it's a little over budget and a lot more assembly.

why would anyone buy one of those self containted units? they are overpriced garbage. d14 or go for a real loop.

And custom loops have zero maintanence. zero. You dont even have to add water over time. If you do find yourself having to add water, then you have a leak somewhere.

Well, besides the filling stage, that's mostly true.

Im not a fan of sealed loops. Have used d14 and have had many custom loops, I prefer water in every way but the d14 is an excellent cooler. Why go from the best air cooler to a mediocre water cooler.

I went the D14 route to xspc rs240. Just get the D14 now then when you have the budget sell the D14 (easy to sell coz easily maintained and proven one of the top aircooler around) and get the rasa.

They cost little bit more but you don't have big lump of copper to look at.

don't have to worry about the the weight.

It will work just as good as top end air coolers. Read reviews on h70 vs d14.

More room to work with.

looks better.

cheaper then a custom loop.

less work to set it up.

To say they are garbage is just your opinion and you have the right to it but it's not a fact.

I agree...
How can this be a question between the two when the H100 is not out yet with results?
The obvious choice would be the one that coolers better...
And think about spacing around the processor area for clearance for the RAM sticks (do they stick up high) and do you also have 2 120mm fan slots in your case?

Just for perspective if you end up like me i got hooked on water cooling, If you buy the H100 and you really like WC you are stuck right there, If you go custom loop you can add on rads and a gpu block or whatever you feel like including if you get a good pump. So with the H100 your stuck with custom loop you will save money with whatever you want to do later on. + as mentioned above you should have no problem selling the d14 if you want water later on.
