Time to RMA GTX260?

Thread Starter
I was wondering if you guys think it would be worth for me to RMA my gtx260. Lately, it's been running pretty hot. It's idle is like 55-65C with 75% fanspeed, but under load, I've seen it up to 89C. I'm sure it's gone higher too because it sometimes crashes my whole computer so I can't see what it got up to. Just playing borderlands at low-mid graphics was too much. Although, my computer is in a hot attic, my brother has his computer in the same room with his gtx460 and he's idling in the 40s (Even has a blistering hot 8800 next to it).

Think it's time I RMA it? And I really don't want to just underclock it. As far as I can tell, the fan is working fine and I do have latest drivers.

Side Question: If I do RMA it, I think I know someone I could sell it to so I could potentially upgrade, or would it not be worth it because I would be bottlenecking with my Q9400? (I think I might be already a bit)

EDIT: Forgot to say I JUST cleaned it out and also did some major wire management for better airflow.

not seeing an issue here but if you are perhaps you could try cleaning the cooler out as it is likely filled with dust and not cooling to its max potential

Re-apply TIM. Make sure fan isn't failing. Be sure pads are in correct placement.

~ That will net you cooler temps ~
