[Thinq] AMD hits last minute delay with Bulldozer - Page 6

It is kind of annoying, because that's cutting it really close to back-to-school time and I was planning on building a system around BD this summer. Strange, sandy bridge has been out for a while now. Couldn't AMD have a good idea of a side-by-side comparison of what they can do with BD versus SB before this delay?

AMD still going to lay the brutal hurt down on sandybridge with liano in netbook/laptop though, followed by bulldozer later on in desktop market.

Regardless, it's all interesting because this is were the moments of both companies will shine with their competitive nature
Zambezi will be too late to put any hurt on Intel.
Anyway the Intel fanboys are being so ridiculous in this thread.

Computex 2011: AMD Bulldozer, Llano, Trinity, & New VISION Branding AnandTech

Bulldozer

Bulldozer is AMD’s next generation CPU design, which we have eagerly been awaiting for quite some time. The first Bulldozer products will ship in Q3 of this year; meaning anywhere between July and September, which is still within the timeframe laid out by earlier rumors of its delay. Zambezi, as rumors previously indicated, is the codename of the desktop part. Server parts should ship at around the same time.
EDIT: AMD is not going to say " sorry, were having problems here with BD" in the press conference. AMD is hoping for the best in August with no promises. Alleged rumors like these are becoming a reality whether you like it or not!!

Nothing else, except that there are some pretty interesting things prepared for launch in Mid-June. However, I don't know whether he gave any hints prior or after saying that since the stream just kept ending every few seconds.

So this would mean a release date of either July or August for the chips, depending how you interpret it when the 'next' month is. It's the month after the boards are available.
Which is exactly what Anand reported (and what I believe you called me stupid for posting just last night)....

Yes, I know. What's your point?

In other news, 990FX boards have already shipped and are in stock. Only 4 left though.

Oh well, mebbe we can skip a C2 type deal, and go directly to C3. One upside. "to compete with Sandy Bridge..." That's it? I thought BD was supposed to move Earth, not get stuck in its own trench? I thought this was supposed to be RECORD SHATTERING, lol

After taking in everything I expect some news at E3 and silicon in Q3. Not happy with AMD, but at least my rig isn't in dire need of a upgrade.
