Windows 7 wont come out of sleep/hibernation

My computer sleeps and when i come back i move my mouse and my fan's start spinning again and the led's come back on however there is no signal to the monitor. Only way to fix is to hold down the power button for ~5 seconds(for some reason pressing the reset button doesnt work...????). Than after i turn it back on it goes back into windows with all my programs opened(it recovers everything).

Anyone have the solution to his annoying problem? Please help fix

*Phew* i thought i was the only one having this issue...

I suppose it has to do something with the video card not awakening when the computer comes out of sleep/hibernation because the actual computer is running however there is no signal to the monitor...

I could very well be wrong(or right ) but i dont know how to fix it

Someone please bless us with the answer please

EDIT: The ironic thing is that im going to sleep and i cant even keep my computer on and check the answer tomorrow because my computer cant awake from sleep lol :/

Yup, and the problem isnt with AMD or Nvidia. Happens to both my boss, your amd cards. and my Nvidia card.. I think your correct as well, acts like the video card isnt waking up.

I think most of the time the problem is with Hibernation, I would disable it if it's not essential and just use sleep.

On an older AM2+ PhenomI + AsRock motherboard, I experienced the same thing- but that was related to either memory voltage or Northbridge/Southbridge voltage. Maybe play with manually increasing some the voltage to memory/motherboard one or two settings above default and see if that helps.

i had similar problem before, but unlike your problem that after you wiggle your mouse, your led lights up, fans spin up, mine didn't have any response at all. but the solution to that was the same as yours, press power for a few seconds then power on. the first boot will bring me to bios setup screen, like when an overclock fails, although i'm not even overclocking anything at that time. but yeah, after loading my custom bios (mostly undervolt tweaks) and hit reboot, then it will boot into windows and straight to 'resume windows screen'. and yes, when it resumes, all my windows and stuff are the way i left them before i put my pc in stand by/sleep.

i fixed this with a bios update. on asus webpage, this was written under a specific bios version ''Fixed S3 resume fail when USB 3.0 controller was disabled''. and yes, i had my usb3.0 controllers disabled as i didn't want to load up controllers at start up when i don't even have a usb3.0 device to use it with.

so yeah, updating bios fixed my problem with my board. might worth checking bios for your board. i suspect it may well be an asus problem rather than graphics.

hope it helps

Had the same problem on my old ASUS laptop. Never found a fix. Imagine a laptop with no sleep/hibernate

Anyone of you were running media centre classic before it went into hibernation?
