[AnandTech] Computex 2011: AMD Bulldozer, Llano, Trinity, & New VISION Branding - Page 2

It certainly would take a bulldozer to push back dates this far, now wouldn't it?

Oh I see what you did there

Oh well, I guess I'll be going Sandy Bridge for sure.

It's much more logical to vehemently and blindly deny everything....

Just bought a 2600k....should have known to buy it sooner.

It's an 8 core CPU, granted kind of, nevertheless, it has to spank a 4 Core with Hyper Threading, because if it didn't AMD would definitely have a serious problem on their hands.

I am fairly confident this new chip will beat Sandy Bridge, if it doesn't, oh well, my upgrade will go to Intel and I will finally get to wave off AMD, meh!

Not sure why people feel the need to announce their purchases in these types of threads.

If anything send type of stuff to AMD and maybe they will realize they are losing fans and will deliver the next CPU on time. Btw, notice the word "fans" not "money"... their cash cow will be Llano which is the reason why they are marketing it so heavily. Us enthusiasts (about 5% of the total CPU market) are a afterthought.

Why? Both run 8 threads maximum and AMD is hoping the twin cores will make up the single thread speed on < 4 threads. It doesn't have to "spank" anything. As long as it is competitive with the 2600k (or other parts) at comparable price points, I'm happy.

Also, excellent point about Llano. That is going to be AMD's bread and butter chip. For all the Bulldozer hype, AMD is looking to make a killing in the mid level market with that chip. CPU+GPU at a decent price, capable of handling most people's home or work computing needs? Sure maybe you and I always scream "MOAR POWER!" but for every one of us, there are at least 10-20 who would be well pleased by the performance of a quad core + DX11 graphics.

Well.......looks like I'm going to just stick with upgrading to a Phenom II, and an AM3+ motherboard, because in all reality.....we don't really need SB for 1920x1080 for games.

I'm thinking a Phenom II, and then an upgrade to BD later would be a better deal, as I can just get a new CPU, and not worry about a motherboard.
