WASAPI and ASIO

Thread Starter
Alright, when i set my foobar to use my Xonar DX ASIO, i cant use windows volume, i cant use EQ'S/DSPS but if i set it to Wasapi speakers xonar dx, i can use EQ'S/DSP and When i change the volume in my Xonar control panel it changes the volume in the Windows slider, and vice versa, but the windows slider/task doesn't actually show the green stuff jumping like it would when it has noise BUT turning the volume down does turn the WAVE option down. and turning it up also turns the green bars up on the wave option

So what one is bit perfect? i'm confused as they sound the same kinda i think

bit perfect audio means audio streaming bypassing Windows Audio Engine , thus no other application's audio will play and signal processing has no effect . This is achieved when the audio renderer selects the WASAPI (Windows Audio Session API) exclusive mode (as opposed to the shared mode). Basic flow of audio streams is

Shared mode:
Audio source -> Decoder -> DS Renderer -> WASAPI -> Audio Engine -> Audio driver -> output

Exclusive mode:
Audio source -> Decoder -> ReClock -> WASAPI -> Audio driver -> output. Unfortunately there are only a couple of players/renderers that support the WASAPI exclusive mode, and for movie playback, ReClock (since 1.8.3.7) is the only solution right now.

foobar2000 WASAPI output plug-in.
5.1/7.1 channel, 16/24 bit, 44.1/48/96/192 kHz, FLAC and WAV files.

disable all enhancements via the sound device's Properties page >> Enhancement tab. On the Advanced tab make sure the two Exclusive Mode options are checked or ticked

Do not set direct sound out or wave out inside the app and check if the s/pdif is disabled
