one core fails in prime95
with about 23C in the room - 35 idle and 61 load

what voltage in bios do you use for 3,8ghz?
also, any vtt?

I had the same issue with a 1.25 vcore on my I5-760, once I went to 1.275 Core 3 never stop in prime. as for the Vtt I also went to 1.265 to help stablize OC

(Set 1.4v in bios, it usually drops to 1.33-1.35v under load....VDroop Stops this...With magic or something....I don't know the details?..Point is, its good...)
Load Line Calibration is the feature that keeps the voltage steady, whereas vdroop is the term given to the 'voltage drop effect' when under load, not the other way around. smile.gif

Vcore1,35(1,328)
VTT1,25
PCH1,05
PLL1,8
vDimm1,66
Linx Complete 50 Runs

19x200 C-states disabled, Turbo Boost, I finished 50 runs with Linx. havent done testing on Prime95 yet. I am trying to see how far I can go down with voltage. 1,21 VTT seems to be my minimum.

Vcore1,325(1,296-1,312)
VTT1,21
PCH1,05
PLL1,8
vDimm1,66

Finished 3 runs with these settings. Tried to lower Vcore further but didnt get far so I am depending on the above to see how far I can go...

However my temperature is almost 10 degree higher than yours with max fan speed. I guess Ill have to reinstall my Noctua. But what settings did you use for these temp and with prime95 fail?

As I said,
bios: 1.415
cpu-z: 1.384
v-dop: 1.312-1.320

No vtt or anything else.
Is 3,8ghz a setup where no vtt or other voltages are required?

These are the final settings for me to operate at 3,8GHz with 8GB Ram stable after 50 runs on Linx and 17 hours between small FFT and Blend.

Vcore1,33125(1,312)
VTT1,25
PCH1,05
PLL1,8
vDimm1,66

Max VTT is 1,4v (changed from 1,21v according to intel spec) but probably not recommended.

If you havent touched your VTT I would start increasing it and lower your Vcore. Starting point could be 1,35vcore 1,21VTT. All depends on your chip.

this guide gave me a good idea of my range...

Hey theres that guide I posted about 10 posts ago lol. Op should read it. My settings right now (even though every chip is different) are 200x18, 1.25625 vcore and vtt, 1.05pch, auto pll, vdimm 1.50 (I have low volt ram) yours will be diff, vdroop off, cstate off, c1e off, speedstep off. Idles at 30c and 56c while running linx extreme, primes a little lower. I ran 4.0 at 20x200 1.35750 vcore and vtt, everything else the same as my 3.6 settings. Just punching these in wont work for you its almost a guarantee, there is a procedure to get a stable oc and just punching numbers in work .000001% of the time.
