which CPU and MOBO for sandybridge?

Thread Starter
I am a Gamer, I had a 1090t setup before that ran at 3.9ghz, with the NB running at 3.0ghz, it was fast, but I thought bulldozer was going to come out within a month, I was wrong, AMD's slides confirm that it wont come out for another 60-90 days, I dont think I want to wait that long to see if its really better than sandybridge.

I have 2x5870s, and this RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231435

which CPU and Motherboard combo should I get? I want to overclock it, and get the most performance out of the chip as possible. 2500K or 2600K? as future proof as possible, and performance wise the best that can possibly reach 5.0ghz.( I hope) that makes me not even think about my old 1090t setup.

I was looking at this:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128494

or

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128478

is it worth the extra $$ to get the newer chipset? does it overclock better? whats the deal?

or should I get the UD5? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...GA-Z68X-UD5-B3

and should I get a 2500K or 2600K?

thanks!

2500k, HT helps you in no way for gaming
Z68 isn't that big a deal, so no not worth it.

I would get the biostar extreme edition as it's quite cheap for excellent performance.

If you want 5ghz on any chip you need water-cooling. Look into the XSPC rasa rs240 for $130 for adquate cooling, otherwise air cooling look between the zalman cnps10x performa to a venx black or Noctua NHD14 or the Thermalrighr silver arrow.
