Deciding Upgrades

Thread Starter
I got my new PC a while ago and I decided that I haven't chose the best parts (look at my sig rig) due to my budget but Here is a list of what I should be spending my money on.

CM690 II Advanced (because my HAF 932 is messed up and i can't be bothered fixing it)
another 4GBs of RAM (i'm pretty new to RAM, i know it helps the PC run smoother but what will the extra do? also it only costs $50AUD)
or just buy games?

I will buy a new motherboard around the end of the year. The C43 was the cheapest P67 i could get and I probably should get rid of it as soon as i can
I've also decided to wait for the Corsair H100 to be out

so don't worry about a cooler or anything?

Are you overclocking? If so yes get a cooler, the H100 will be a good choice. As you only have 1 stick of memory I would say yes go ahead and get a 2nd so that at least you'll be running dual channel. I wouldn't bother upgrading the motherboard unless you need more features, I'd save up for a ssd instead.

This is a general inquiry about parts and not a build log.

Moved to Intel General.

Make sure you have the appropriate clearance to fit roughly the size of 2 120mm fans on the top of the CM690. My case is pretty similar, but it's limited in that it uses 8 pci expansion slots. I think the 690 might be in the same boat.

If youre not going to overclock your cpu, you should stick to your stock intel cpu cooler. If your going to overclock your cpu (i assume you will because you bought the 2500K which enables you to overclock) buy a decent cpu cooler to keep your temperatures down (it also helps during summer since the temperature can get hot).
