It's more like:
= entry level and low-middle range performance beating the price point versus Intel at their middle-of-the-road chips
= high-middle range and progressively better performance for your dollar in comparison to AMD's offering of the same price points

that with first generation and second generation i5
platforms, the price points for similarly built competition by AMD is triumphed by Intel. Especially thanks to Sandy Bridge at the very most current of moments.
