[Hardware.fr] 184 CPUs tested

Thread Starter
The title pretty much sums it up: 184 CPUs from the Athlon 64 X2 to the 990X. Most of what was on sale the last couple of years has been tested in this review in 10 benches (7 apps + 3 games).

Here's the original article in French (graphs are self-explanatory) or Google-translated in English

So basicly in the conculsion

AMD = Very good CPU for a Price/Performance Ratio
Intel = for people who want to bring out the geek in them

But don't we already know that?

PH II 1100T Pair with i7 920/930 and i5 2300 and i7 860

AMD need catching up to do >.<

No, that's not quite the case.

It's more like:

AMD = entry level and low-middle range performance beating the price point versus Intel at their middle-of-the-road chips

Whereas

Intel = high-middle range and progressively better performance for your dollar in comparison to AMD's offering of the same price points

There is absolutely no denying that with first generation and second generation i5 / i7 platforms, the price points for similarly built competition by AMD is triumphed by Intel. Especially thanks to Sandy Bridge at the very most current of moments.
