[Vortez] Noctua Prototypes Seen at Computex - Page 6

The irony here is that with the release of the Intel 2500k and 2600k chips, extreme air or water cooling has only really been required if you want extreme overclocks.

There are plenty of 2500k owners running their chips north of 4.5ghz with a $25 Coolermaster Hyper 212+ cpu cooler....

I can run just shy of 5ghz with my chip (not that I would bother other than for benches) with a Corsair H70 easily. Seeing as I only paid $75 for it (and it places no stress on the board at all), I'm not really sure what direction Noctua is going here

I might have actually bought a DH14 if the fans weren't so ugly. Really, do people use color schemes this bad in builds?

I cannot recall the last time a tower heatsink damaged a motherboard more times than a water-cooling setup leaking.

..lol.. Why thank you.. im glad someone finally told me that my opinion on this mater is wrong... before i post any other "opinions" ill be sure to pm you the post first for factual analysis of said opinion..

"I thought it was a good movie" <--- opinion
"NH-D14 cools better than H50/70" <--- fact

Air coolers need to offer great cooling in a small package not this giant awkward piece of equipment that blocks all the rams slots lol.

For the amount of money you spend on the noctua coolers I think you are going to be better off spending the extra cash on a WC setup or just go with a Corsair (or other brand) closed loop system.
