Quick Q - Can you run a standard flash drive in a esata port

Thread Starter
I have a 2gb flash drive hanging around as was thinking of using windows ready boost. Looking at the rear of my pc I have all the usb slots in use, but also have 3 red e-sata (usb) ports.

So, is there any disadvantage of using these ports for the device, and will it reduce the performance increase of using readyboost?

If not I will have to unplug some crap

Cheers,
David.

PS: I'm surprised that I could not find the answer on an instant google search

If it's one of those eSata/USB combo ports, then it will be the same as any other USB port.

If it's only an eSata port, it won't work I don't think

Basically, if the USB drive fits in the port, it should work.

Also, unless you're actually running out of RAM all the time, readyboost is pointless. And even then it's not very helpful
