GTX 580 .... what brand? - Page 4

Another vote for the lighting. Went from 470GTX sli to a single lightning and even though I technically lost some performance in the move I would do it again any day. Runs insanely cool, looks amazing and has performed flawlessly so far.

It is insanely long though, so make sure the case can handle it first.

Lightning it is....looks best and seems to have best cooling out of the 3...as well it comes with 6 free games + 3dmark 11

unless the asus goes on sale (their service center is literally 10minutes drive away)

Ya I'm giving up on the EVGA...never liked reference cards

If you're not planing on overclocking and saving a few dollars the Zotac gtx 580 is pretty cheap.

EVGA reference card for the following reasons. To leave the option to drop under water for crazy OC. Hot air exhaust out the back air flow bracket. Superior customer service and warranty.

MSI Lightning for non-reference card is a great second choice. However for me personally, I'd hate the hot air dumping into my case over my CPU, which I like to over clock. I've got a mid-size tower, though I have great air cooling / ventilation, and the GPU itself is kept cooler it technically still generates the same heat. One out the back of the tower, the other inside. You can OC it further but nothing to write to home about.

To be honest now that my opinion is out of the way, any of those cards are beasts because at the end of the day the GTX 580 is still a GTX 580.
