Thinking of changing my Mobo, need advice

I didnt think ahead well enough when I got my Sabertooth, and at that time I really new nothing at all about what to get and went with the store clerks advice. I want to be able to run 3 cards or be able to run 2 cards plus still have another PCI slot ready for a really good sound card or somthing else I may want and not have to worry about space for it. Right now I think I can get away with having 2 GPU's and still have one PCIe x 1 slot open for a sound card but it will depend on the sound card. It would also be really really close to one of the GPU's causing more heat soak.

Would this be a good one http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...077&CatId=6975

Or just let me know of a good alternate. This should be an easy swap with the only pain being the CPU and H20 cooler since I have to deal with thermal paste. I wouldnt think I would need to reinstall anything OS wise.

That would be an excellent choice, or save some money and go for the ASUS P8P67 PRO. Very similar, only a few features less.

Take a look in my Club for info and reviews

Thinking of this board since it appears it will run 3 cards in x16 and others regulate down to x4 or x8 because of the chipset sharing bandwidth with other PCI slots. Seems like a good way to go? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131714

you have to get a board with an NF200 chipset along with the P67 or Z68, the best are :
the Gigabyte UD7 series or the Asus Maximus 4 series.

You can slo look at the MSi big bang, which from what i have heard isn't that great, or you could try the P8p67 WS revolution

I think I need one with an Nf200 chipset unless running both cards at 8x will not impact performace enough to justify the extra cost.

At this point I dont think there is a big advantage when comparing 16x/16x vs 16x/8x, maybe a few FPS...

But since your buying new I would find one with dual 16x support just in case..

There is almost no differance in running at 8x vx 16x in sli. I was at quakecon this year and spoke the guys at EVGA about it and they confirmed it. Here is a link about it
http://www.hardocp.com/article/2010/...16x16_vs_x8x8/

If you are looking for a P8P67 Deluxe, I have one that is 2 months old that I'm looking to sell ($179 shipped). Asus honors the warrany for 3 years so it's just like buying a new one

there is a very small difference, but if you add another card in there with SLI you need a NF200 board.
