Arctic Cooling Accelero XTREME Plus

Does anyone know if this cooler will fit in a 5870 Vapor-X? I know aftermarket coolers are usually a no go for non-reference cards, but I'd like to know if anyone knows if by any chance it fits

The other day I got a second monitor to run dual display, and like it should, it increased my temps a bit, now it runs "kind of" hot, 70-75c, which is 10 degrees higher than before, but what annoys me is the noise, it's plenty audible when the fan spins at 60% and higher.

There were two revisions of the Vapor X. The first one was a reference 5870 PCB, so it's going to fit fine. The second revision looks like this. These list the model numbers so you should be able to tell on your card. I'm not sure if it will work on V2, but hopefully you can find out better with this information.

I Have the second revision with the blue PCB, I googled a bit and found a kitguru review of the cooler on a HIS HD5870 (I think it's a non-reference design?), the screw holes around the GPU seem to be at the exact same position on both PCB and looks like the cooler will fit on it, no?

Anyone?

It fits in this one according the review in KitGuru

Would it fit on a Sapphire 5870 Vapor-X?

Yes it should fit. The card is identical to the other pictured, just different chokes are used on the Sapphire card.

Thanks for clearing it up, I'll grab one in 2 weeks to see if at least it helps to reduce the noise while under load.

so does it work Icarian ? I have a hd 5850 and it has started to make rattling noise. I have put some oil in the fan and it seems to be working fine but sometimes the fan wants to make a little rattle
I have checked the Artic cooler that u mentioned but from this pdf sheet it seems it will not work. Does you card work ?
