See for yourself, but you're digging your own grave here.

http://www.alienware.com/Landings/laptops.aspx

Alienware wasn't worth before and even worse since dell bought them.

This laptop and you're sorted. Plus you can upgrade the CPU and GPU in the future, as well as RAM and HDD.

It really depends on what you want to spend. My Uncle has an ASUS G73

i7 with auto overclocking to 2.8GHz (quad of course)
8GB Ram
2 500GB HDDs
17.3 inch screen
bluray drive
HD 5870

And it wont overheat. The coolers are MASSIVE! And this is one beast of a laptop!

Its quite pricey but if you insist on getting a laptop then this is one of your options.

Ugh, dont listen to this uneducated riff raff. I am in the UK so i can tell you exactly where to go. UKlaptops.co.uk have a great range of refurbs which is where i bought my Alienware m15x. Granted i bought it almost 2 years ago, but even then it was about £900 and the best money i spent in a long time. It has the Nvidia 260m GTX which is the MINIMUM card you want to be looking at, ideally the 285m gtx or better. On the ATI side the Radeon 5870 is the MINIMUM again. All these cards will play ALL the latest games, but if you want to max out Crysis etc on a 1080p screen you need to go SLI

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ALIENWARE-M17x...#ht_2999wt_905

this is a good deal, 2gb crossfire 4870 cards will max almost anything and for sure games like crysis 2 will be easy on 1080.

just remember the only people that moan about alienware and cry there are overpriced are the people that have never owned one. i have owned 3 and will never buy anything else. in fact i just bought the m11x a couple of days ago and its FREAKIN AWESOME

happy buying.

ps, fyi i sold my alienware m15x in mint condition with a 260m gtx card and quad core i7 for 750 quid. and you can get them a LOT cheaper than that (the guy that bought it was a mug lol) and i maxed out crysis 2 no probs.

BUT saying all of this, you can ALWAYS get a tower cheaper, and more powerful. but for my life i need a lappy so no complaints from me

man if you had a little bit more, ALIENWARE M18x DUAL 6970M 4GB GDDR5, I7 2720QM, 8GB RAM, 18" 1080 SCREEN. THE DUAL 6970M IS ALMOST IF NOT EQUAL TO A GTX 580, THIS LAPTOP IS A BEAST, SOME ONE EARLIER MENTIONED, YOU CANNOT MAX IT OUT WITHOUT ANY LAPTOP OVERHEATING, THIS ONE CAN! AND STAYS AT 68-70C AFTER HOURS OF GAMING, THIS LAPTOP IS PROVEN TO SURPASS MY SIG RIG, BUT IT IS QUITE EXPENSIVE, BUT WELLLLLLLLL WORTH IT. ALSO 3 YEAR WARRANTY WITH HOME TECH SUPPORT

This would be a good candidate for a laptop for you:

http://uklaptops.co.uk/shop/Alienwar...HDD_Black.html

It should run Crysis on High settings well enough and is right on the 1500 mark with taxes.

I'm running all my games at 1080p with 2X/4X AA max AF with my new Asus G53SW.

My GTX 460M is OCed to 800/1600/1500, I have 12Gb of RAM, and use a Crucial C300 128Gb for boot drive. After a clean Win 7 installation, and using ThrottleStop, that laptop is flying!

I'm really impressed. Never tought it would be that powerful.

I'm now playing The Witcher 2, DA2, Borderlands, BBC2 and Alien vs predator on it. And it's surprinsigly great.

I have a crazy fast desktop, but now I can also have fun when travelling.
