Which motherboard for Intel i5 760

Thread Starter
Ok,

I have an Intel i5 760 processor and an X-Fi Elite Pro sound card and a Zotac GTX480 Amp Edition! graphics card. I now plan on getting another Zotac GTX480 Amp Edition! graphics card for SLI with 3 x Acer 3D monitors (I currently use 2) but I cannot seem for the life of me to be able to find a motherboard that will fit both graphics cards and the sound card. I can see an Asus motherboard but it does not support SLI for NVidia cards, how ever does support Radeon cards. can anyone please please help. The trouble it the graphics cards are HUGE!... so again looking for some help and suggestions.

Many thanks guys and girls!

Use a tri sli board and use slot 1 and 3? should be spaced well enough

What's your budget?

something like this would work, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813186176

+1 for the EVGA mobo. I have the little brother of it, and it's an awesome mobo.

the eVGA P55 looks to be the ticket and at a decent price too.... might even sell the X-Fi card as it has Digital out... then have 3 x Zotac GTX480 Amp cards, running 3 x 3D monitors... ohhh the posibilities... many thanks!

Actually you cannot have tri-SLI on the EVGA. It has 2 x16 slots (running at x8 with 2 cards plugged in) and one x4, which is not likely connected to the processor and rather to the chipset, eliminating tri-SLI. According to EVGA, that mobo is meant to do 2x SLI/CF+PhysX. If you want tri-SLI, better prepare your wallet for a P55 FTW or Classy.

2 480's in SLI can pretty much destroy anything tho. The sound is very good as well, for a Realtek chip (only tried 5.1 analog output tho), even tho i prefer my X-Fi because of the frontal panel+software presets. Also, your card is very much like mine (a little bit better, according to Wiki), but instead of an external connection panel it has one internal

The one i don't really recommend is the P55V. The phases seem to weak and too little to fuel up an i5 OC'd. Plus, it lacks the optical/coax outputs.
