Suitable replacement for 4870x2 - Page 2

I had a lot of issues with my similair 4850x2 too, but they were often crossfire or game-related issues.

Exactly. I think I can sometimes deal with the noise/heat but the fact that some games ran terribly was enough to put me off. I don't like messing around too much. Neither do I like having to stick with 1 year old drivers because ATI have decided to drop driver support for the 4870x2.

I imagine the 4850x2 had/has even less driver support? They were quite rare cards?

I ran two XFX 5850 xfired, and I have to say I wasn't pleased with the results at all. I sold both cards and got an ASUS GTX 570... Runs BC2 like a champ, on all high settings. It was definitely worth the upgrade.

Change of plan once again!

I've just bought an MSI GTX 560Ti TwinFrozr II 1GB for £175

Was a bargain! Plus its nice knowing that I no longer have to deal with ATI drivers
