Thinking about upgrading pumps

Thread Starter
Its not really that I suspect my pump failing, or that its the source of any cooling issues, but rather that I am trying to get a secondary rig up and liquid cooled and the only things I need to do that are fans and a pump.
However, that said I don't really want to upgrade pumps if its not even worth it, I would rather buy another MCP-355 for the secondary build if its not going to be a noticeable change.
Basically, I have an MCP-355 thats about a year and a half old with a XSPC Res-top on it, I'm thinking about upgrading to a fully bitspower modded MCP-655 and putting in a T-line with a fillport instead.
This:

Is the type of pump I am thinking of using.
Would this make a noticeable difference? I.E. Better cooling? Quieter? I know it upgrades the looks factor by like... 300%.

Oh, I should probably note my loop...
I have a Swiftech RX360, a Second Generation EK Supreme HF Full Nickel LGA1366 waterblock and (normally, although only one of these is present currently) an EK FC-460GTX and a FC GTX 295 in a single loop.

The 655 won't provide better cooling and if it's a really restrictive loop could be worse than the 355. Although the Ãœber 655 looks good the cover isn't really worth it as the pump doesn't need the additional cooling that it provides. The pump top looks OK but it's worth checking whether better tops are available. After saying that it looks really good but it's expensive bling.

I haven't had a 355 yet but I've read that the 655 is quieter although a lot depends on how it's decoupled. The 655 takes up more space which may or may not be a factor in your build.

Thanks, thats kind of what I figured, I'll probably just nab another MCP-355 then.

I don't know if they're available in the US but Alphacool do the VPP655 model which is the pump only without a top so you can choose your own. Depending on price that may be worth looking at as well.
