vegas clips turn pixelated...help?!?

Thread Starter
so..i am making an amv, and i'm using videos that are 640x480, divx codec i think. these videos were converted from h.264 .mkv to .avi using Leawo's AVI converter. i've heard that there are problems with it, but almost all of my clips have no problem, except the clips that are from one of my videos. there is minor pixelation (only in some areas) after rendering in .wmv, 640x480, and 60fps. can anyone help? also i noticed that this only happened after some point with Leawo (i converted a few videos that worked, then after one of them, they would be pixelated in vegas, if that makes sense). will reconverting fix this? and is there any way i can do it without losing my work?

Would be nice to know what codecs you used for the avi-file. Maybe the codec used can keep up in these areas. I hope you still have the mkv-files files.

i'm not sure what the codec is, but in the leawo program, i choose avi interleaved for the output file, and this is for the files with and without the problems. i still have the mkv file.

It might be because you're rendering in wmv, horribly compressed. I use it too, only because my clients don't care

Go with lossless or even YUV

i tried lossless avi, but it was really choppy, and freaking 30gb. i have a feeling this is leawo's fault, cause i use the same settings i always use, and its usually okay. i might try another converter tomorrow. i'll post the results.

Use super.

It`s got all the options codecs and does nearly everything.

For the time you edit in vegas you should use a "big" file. 30GB is heavy but this is a temp. file!
