HP Mini 311 Netbook Idle @ 53*c and 68*c Load? Normal temps for Atom or Overheating?

Thread Starter
Basically what the title says. My mini311 is idling at 53*c and full load at 68*c. It is the Atom N270 CPU @ 1.6Ghz. Nvidia Ion is idle: 58*c and 62*c on load. Using HWMonitor to check temps.

It does feel quite hot from the bottom. Fans are set to Always On. Are the temps normal or am I a victim of overheating.

Have you tried other programs to see if HWMonitor is wrong? CoreTemp? RealTemp?
I know I had the problem of one program telling me one thing and another telling me something else.

I would suggest opening it up and replacing the TIM. But they are a PITA to open and a PITA to put back together. The chances of ruining something while putting it back together are quite high.

Completely normal for an Atom to get that hot! Most (if not all) netbooks have VERY passive cooling and they get quite toasty if running at full multiplier.

The only real luck I've had in cooling mine down was using a program like Notebook Hardware Control to force it to enable speed step.
