BTW..this site: http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/index.html seems to have all the info about what MOBO has official support for what CPUs.

Bang for buck?

I'd say the ASUS Sabertooth X58 could be what you are after. Decent price, good overclocking headroom and a good motherboard manufacturer;

Thank you guys sooo much!

I can't seem to choose between the Asus Sabertooth X58 and the EVGA X58 SLI3...both at the same price. Anyone have a good argument on which one is better?

Thanks.

check out my motherboard guide (link is below)... Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R FTW!!!

Looking at the specs the EVGA board supports Tri-SLI (since it has 3 x PCI-e slots) and the Sabertooth supports only dual-SLI (2 x PCI-e X16 slots)

However the Sabertooth supports RAID 0/1/5/10 while the EVGA board has no mention of RAID support (I think it probably does support raid, just not listed on Newegg specs perhaps?).

The ASUS has a 5 year warranty vs 1 year though so that may be a huge positive for the ASUS.

Otherwise they are pretty much identical and they probably have very similar OC'ing headroom. So the choice is entirely yours. You wont be dissapointed with either board thats for sure

Ahhhh crap now there is a third board to think about.

I was leaning towards the EVGA only because the X5680 is offically listed on the support list.

I really like the Sabertooth and have always been a ASUS fan...have had number of mobo and video cards from them and all have been nothing but solid! I have not been able to google anyone using the Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R or the Sabertooth with a X5680. The Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R seems to offer more for the same price as the Sabertooth. Could this be any more difficult!?!?
