thinking of jumping the fence

Okay well i have always preferred AMD over Intel because there pricing seems farer but to be honest I have always been jealous of the raw power that Intel delivers, so am thinking I might buy SB an SB mobo baring in mind I will have to save an wont be doing this right away, but what parts do you think I should get?

I was thinking 2500k and i haven't decided mobo I chose this because I will be using my computer for gaming photoshop dreamweaver and fireworks, and i will probably overclock but not unless i think its necessary

also could someone answer a few questions i have

1) can i crossfire on an intel platform

2) is there any major differance that justifies the price differance between the 2500k and 2600k other than clock speed which is only 200mhz differnt
just realised 2500k is an i5 and 2600k is i7

instead is there a huge differance between phenom 955 an i5 2500k,

maybe i should wait for IB an buy a case an another 6950 for when i get triple monitors?
what do you think?

thanks a bunch dom

wait wait, deep breath man.

Dozer is going to be out fairly soon, your sig rig is very decent, cant u hold off?

even if bulldozer fails, at least you played it safe and waited... SB will only be cheaper

haha i was thinkin BD looks like it might be a flop, my problem with amd is i am always slightly let down when something launches an its only "technically" better or just plain old not as good,

an you have a pretty good point

Don't do it!

j/k

You do have a good system there and since you gotta save money... the new AMD systems may be out by then with reviews and benchmarks... If you wanted best system now then yes a 2500k (or 2600k) would be top-of-the-line.

If you don't have a good case, I would buy one before I bought anything else.
