You do know that i7 has a much better architecture, right?

I wish Intel would have come up with a different designation for their 2500-2600. There are just too many cpu's that can be called "i7" these days.

No, you've just had a lucky run and gotten a golden chip.

While the architecture of both series is similar, Thubans allow for higher CPU-NB speeds (probably higher, stable ram speeds too). Good for games.

So whoever says they'd take an X4 over and X6 isn't really taking into consideration every aspect of these chips.

^^ This

Iv'e got 2 disabled cores @ 4.0GHz 1.44V - 1.46V with LLC
Northbridge @ 3200MHz @ 1.41V with LLC

And my max load temp for 10 minutes with Prime95 is 40C

So disableing the 2 other cores acually lowers the TDP of the processor also, so it's more power efficent than a X4

Ohhhh no. It is 2 chips 975 and 980. Both got 4.5GHz stable and suicide of 4.7GHz.

Do people just read what they want on peoples posts?!?!?!? I'll say it again, a friend of mine has the same GPU as mine running on an AMD Phenom II x4, he is getting 80 odd FPS in BC2 and 115 odd FPS in Black Ops, I was getting 35 FPS in BC2 and 45 FPS in Black Ops on my Phenom II x2, now upgraded to an i7 I am getting double the frame rate (more then double in BO) on both so which part of that don't either of you understand?!?!?!?

That i7 is a Quad too. This thread was about Quad Core VS Hex Core, not Dual core VS Quad core.

If you are thinking that since a Hex Core has 2 more cores it would get 50% more fps, no. Games need to have multithreading support, and most games only support 1-4 cores.
