GTX 580 or GTX 570 replacing GTX 480 - Page 2

i have a GTX 570 and i love it =) great price and performance. I play most new games all maxed out on 1920*1080. Only game im having a little trouble with is arma 2 (25-40fps) but well all know that game is always needed no matter how powerful your pc is. Ive overclocked it to 900 1800 2100 1.063v

make sure if you do buy it dont go over 1.1v

the GTX 570 would be a nice jump from the 480..though if you can afford the 580..you do get what you paid for..

Think that be a better upgrade that saves money and lets you gain more performance at same time. SLI them n oc those beasts secondary rig get a 4850 or something on newegg for around $50 i believe not sure if it on sale still.

edit: on a side note maybe you dont need either one unless it time of the year again upgrading spree ha
Or just pick a GTX 460 for $169.99 for the second computer.

follow your brain

i was in the same boat as you a couple of weeks ago, pulled the trigger on 580 in the end. bit pricey compared to the 570, yes, and for about 15% performance gain on average it's hard to justify the price tag, but that extra bit of vram will come in handy a year or 2 down the road with more and more vram-eating games.

besides, you have less worry over vrams blowing up if you're into overclocking your gpus

hope it helps

get a 460 for 2nd pc or 480 again. 480 is better card then 570 for phase power on it. BUt the 480 is older and takes up more power. 580 if ya can, seen one on amazon a few weeks ago for 360USD. If geting 580 get 3 gb card, alot better if resale.
Now the 560ti is not a bad card. i would skip the 570 and 590 tho.

Bc2 i get 90-120 fps maxed out @ 1920-1080 @ 120 hz . it dips below in apc but that a killer for fps anyways. I hit 950mhz overclock on mine.

Thankyou so much....im glad you said this,i just couldnt be arsed with it

Also worth bearing in mind is that this chart shows at stock clocks and voltage, theres no point in even discussing overclocking as the gap just gets narrower.

The only gain....if anything at all, would be lower power consumption and less heat output...but even the heat output is debatable if your VRM' on fire
Oh and you get a #5 instead of a #4,w00p!

a 732MHz 570 barely manages to beat a 700MHz 480.

Take them both up to same clocks to see the performance differences.

there you go pointing guns again..considering his financial course and of course those are bench tapes from fanboy sites..IMHO it would be rather comfortable for TS to go SLI rather than getting those cards..and in some cases the 570 gets over the 480..not to mention the OC potential(just don't blow it up)..
