don't put more than 1.5 volts...

Watch temps, take small steps, underclock ram by using a lower divider to avoid ram instability when overclocking the CPU.

Is it an E0?

You should be able to get up to 3.5GHz or more with stock volts.

Dont put more than 1.36V & stay bellow 72c.

^^Corrected

Fill in your rig specs and we can help you better.

It will all depend on your RAM (you'll need DDR2 1066) and your motherboard and cooling.

With that Ram you can get your Q9550 to 3.4GHz.

Like 2thAche said you will need DDR2 1066MHz if you want to overclock that sucker to 3.8GHz or even beyond 4GHz.
