iPhone 4 Jailbreak and restoring

Thread Starter
I was thinking about jailbreaking my new iPhone 4 that I recently got off ebay

Just wondering if I could easily revert back to offical firmware for the iPhone if I wanted to and when doing so does this completly wipe the entire phone ?

Does this unlock the phone to all service providers aswell or is that another matter Thinking of changing from Orange to O2.

If this is not allowed by moderators please delete, sorry

Reverting back the firmware s easy...but you have to do it by reverting to factory defaults. It does erase everything, at least i did for me when i did it.

Keep in mind that jailbreaking and unlocking (to use on other networks) aren't the same thing.

First you must jailbreak and then use something like ultrasn0w to unlock.

And yes you can easily revert to a non-jailbroken state by using iTunes 'Restore' button, or by putting the phone in DFU mode and restoring. Make sure you do this before taking the phone to an Apple store
