OP, you haven't said what your budget is. I am not sure why ppl are not asking. wink.gif

The i3-2100T is about $120-ish in my area and the i5-2500K is about $200 so a difference of $80. If you were deciding between SB 1155 and those two processors, I'd get a cheaper motherboard (<$80) and upgrade the mobo later.

The other plan would be to go with i3-2100 and as good a motherboard as you can afford and then wait. When ivy bridge comes out, see if some of those processors are compatible and there's more options.

I would stay with 1155 as 1156 is EOL platform? Isn't it, guys? I ask the experts but isn't my logic any good? I hope I am making sense because I don't want ppl shaking their heads.... darn noob... wink.gif

Even if you have to upgrade a part, I think it's easier if you are only replacing one component rather than being stuck with a totally different architecture... yes, there are 1156 processors out there but the newest ones are probably compatible with 1155.

Anyway, I am just throwing this out there for analysis. I am not sure if it's a good argument but I am trying to figure it out, too, because I ALSO have 775 hardware and would like to upgrade! :-)
