Thinking about getting 2 6950's wet.

But I have a problem

I have a HAF 932 as you can see and I'm running out of room lol. I've been eyeing the XSPC Razor blocks for both cards, and I have enough fittings and such, but alas only one 360 rad.

I don't think a single 360 rad even in push pull will be able to accommodate my CPU, Mobo (Full cover block from Danger Den), and both GPU's. Thus my dilemma. I have an extra 140mm rad lying around but I am not sure were I could put it. I bought it with all of my components currently in my case but discovered it wouldn't fit mounted inside the case

So yeah. Suggestions? Buy an 800D (I want one but I cut my HAF up a bit to accommodate my Frozen Q res where it is)? Maybe someone wiser than myself can help with rearranging my case layout?

My R3E is being RMA'ed atm, so I figured now is a good time

Did you try mounting that 140mm rad on the back of the case (inside or out) where the 140mm fan currently is?

Which will work with a little rigging (primarily finding the right screw length which I can cut if needed), but would then have hose hanging outside my case.

I've really wanted to avoid that, so I've taken pains to try and get everything sealed up nicely in the HAF. Now it's looking like I'm in trouble.

Here is an old picture with a GTX 465. Since then I have removed that and placed the two 6950s in slots 1 and 3 of the R3E. I also got rid of that god ugly fan haha.

You could mount it inside and set a fan as pull on the outside, if you would prefer a sleeved fan wire over some tubing. I have seen other people attach a fan to the rad and then set the 140mm rad in the 5.25in bays, not sure how they did it but maybe an idea for ya.

2 C300's in Raid0 for speedy goodness, 2 1TB F3's and 1 2TB WD

I know I could probably hide the 2 C300's, but I don't know where I would put the other 3.



As for the problem with putting the 140mm on the back in just a pull setup.... I would be worried about airflow. Sure nothing would be exhausting directly into my case but my ambient would still be hot inside. And I have my doubts about a single 140mm fan pulling enough air out on it's own through a rad...

Bump. Getting mobo and both waterblocks in tomorrow for my 6950's. Time for me to seek help from those wiser than myself.


Question 1: Do I need to add in an additional pump?

Question 2: Is it worth jerry-rigging in an extra rad, or should I just bump to a new case?

Which XSPC radiator do you have? I would venture that with an RX, you should be able to just barely pull off one 360 radiator for all of your equipment with a push/pull arrangement. I would of course add the 140mm radiator to the 140mm holes in the back and have it intake air from the case and exhaust it out the back.

I would not say you need another/different pump with that setup. The 655 is a solid performer, and if you want more out of it, buy a new top for it, which is a lot cheaper than replacing the pump totally.

I would add the 140mm if you can. Maybe run the loop CPU-> mobo block -> mobo block -> 140mm (if you can put it with the inlet/outlet on the bottom side it might work a bit smoother/look more organized) -> 6950 block 1 -> 6950 block 2 -> reservoir -> pump -> radiator -> CPU. I would prefer to have a radiator between the GPUs and the res and pump, but it doesn't look like that would be in the cards from an organization standpoint. With my build (check my sig link) I ran my pump's outlet direct to the GPUs, then CPU, then radiator, then res/pump. just to keep it somewhat organized, though I've still got a giant hose from the top of my case to the bottom, but it's almost unavoidable.

Thank you very much. I was hoping someone else might chime in, as I was hesitant to stick all of this on just the 655. As for my radiator it's actually the Swiftech-MCR320-QP. I do not know how it compares to the XSPC one. The problem I have had with the 140mm radiator is I don't see how to make it fit on the 140mm fan port very well.

Sorry, I guess from seeing your XSPC waterblock and looking at pics I assumed it was an XSPC RS360. So the MCR320 QP is a solid radiator, however you're likely to be pushing ~700w or so through the loop, so according to this chart from skinneelabs.com, you'd need some fans in the 2300-2500rpm range, of which I don't know how realistic that projection of heat dissipation will be, but it's a start.



Keep in mind I'm on the same setup(ish), with an overclocked 2600k, and two overclocked watercooled 6950s, with the HW labs GTX360 with 2100rpm fans on it.... So honestly I'm not sure how honest that chart will be about the performance of your radiator, and I'm red-lining my radiator when doing full folding on CPU+2GPUs. I would say you'd either need a radiator upgrade, or a radiator addition.

With the 140mm radiator, why doesn't it fit? I guess first, do the holes line up, second does the radiator hit the fans up top or the case to the side when lined up? I don't know how it doesn't fit? Sorry if I'm being repetitive/hard headed
