NZXT Unviels new CPU Cooler

Thread Starter
Didn't see this posted already so here it is.

NZXT, Makers of Awesome cases (such as the Phantom) and case accessories (sleeved cables and LED strips) Unveiled the "Havik 140" CPU cooler yesterday.
It has 2 specially designed 140mm Fans on it, and uses 6 heat-pipes, which is the same amount as Noctua's NH-D14, albeit they only run through 1 tower.
NZXT Product page: http://www.nzxt.com/new/products/cpu_cooler/havik_140
EDIT: A review was posted in the news section: http://www.overclock.net/hardware-ne...pu-cooler.html

This and good looks when its not running. When a fan blade is wavy, it makes it more efficient(more airflow) and also makes it quieter. They do the same thing in aviation with propellers. Some of the new propellers they are comeing out with have what they call a Scimitar propeller. It has a curved blade and it is also wider in the centre. It makes more airflow, more efficiency, and is by far quieter than traditional strait-bladed propellers. Computer fans are the same way. If you take a scimitar designed blade, itll spin lower RPM's say 900. Then take a tradtional computer fan that has traditional blades, it may spin at like 1200-2000 RPM's and make the same airflow as the 900 RPM scimitar bladed fan, but also make more noise and be less efficient. This may all seem like scientific mumbo jumbo, but this is how someone would take and design a better more efficient fan for a computer or propeller for an airplane. And the same RPM thing goes with airplane propellers, you can spin a Scimitar blade slower, make the same airflow at lower rpms and be quieter.

interesting.

NZXT is really expanding their product line up with this. At this rate, I wouldnt be surprised if they contact one of the OEMs like Asetek or Coolit for WCing setups.

That specially designed fan looks like a replacement for the top of a Phantom case than for a CPU cooler. Looks like they just stuck it on a random cooler and said "Well looky here, we got ourselves a brand spankin' new CPU cooler!"
