Swapping G60-440US motherboard?

Does anyone know if it's possible to switch a G60-440US running an Intel motherboard to be swapped with one running an AMD processor? It looks like it would be a simple swap and reformat, but I'm not sure if thats the whole picture.

Do you mean swapping the whole motherboard and cpu for another motherboard and cpu? It should work as long as it all fits properly, which i doubt. A lot of the connectors on the motherboard (display, dvd, port hole, ect) are custom and generally need an exact swap.

Yea, looks like your right, are you able to closely compare the display connection and the rest of them so that you can be sure. Also, you want to make sure the heatsinks and fast line up correctly.

I don't own the AMD motherboard, but was thinking it was probably better in battery life and graphics than the Intel one.

Its a risky thing to waste money on. It could very well work but there is a good chance it will not as well. I would keep this thread going until you find someone who has done it. If you dont mind paying the restocking fee or shipping to send it back (assuming they allow it) then go for it.

I have performed this swap and everything fits

Same model G60-440 to a board from a G60-231WM (AMD Athlon x2)
