Wait for the Bionic or grab a thunderbolt?

Any possible release dates floating around out there for the Bionic?

Last I had heard on the Bionic was that it was moved to around September.

If you need/want a 4G/LTE phone now, there's always the Samsung Droid Charge and LG Revolution. They're both less than stellar, by the way, considering the newer technology coming out. The Revolution and Thunderbolt run on the same 1Ghz Snapdragon CPU that my Droid Incredible has from a year ago. The Samsung is also just a single-core phone.

If you 4G/LTE isn't important to you, check out the new Droid X2. It has the nVidia Tegra 2 as it's CPU/GPU.

ya idk, i think i would be kicking myself if I dont grab an LTE phone. 4G speeds seem to be a bigger upgrade than a dualcore

I'm in the exact same boat as you, as I'm really itching for a 4G phone, but I'm not going to settle for one with lackluster and outdated hardware like the Charge, TB and Revolution. In my opinion you should wait until they release a 4G phone with some good hardware. I can almost guarantee that we'll see one sometime this summer.

Is there LTE in your area, if not how long will it take to be implemented in you area?
That is the big question, Any of the phones suggested are great phones however for "future proofing" an LTE phone would be ideal.
Is you upgrade time coming up? If it comes by the time the Bionic comes out then wait and get it for future proofing.. if not and you need/want to get something now Any of the phones mentioned will do fine.
That Moto X2 looks appealing but having it rooted will be a pita, if you do that sort of thing.

Thunderbolt isn't outdated, just not a dual core. Some obscene overclocks getting pulled out of those suckers.

I'm not sure about the Charge.

Let me try to clear some things up here. Bionic was put on the chopping block about a 2 months ago. It will not be released. They released the DroidX 2 in its place until they make a 4G phone. I own both the Samsung Charge and the HTC Thunderbolt. I personally like the HTC more. Its faster data and better mobile hotspot. The Charge has better GPU and plays games alot smoother. Battery life on both are terribad. Its to be expected. If you cant handle it get an extended battery pack.

I had the thunderbolt, droid X2 & now I have the Xperia play. The thunderbolts battery is HORRIBLE & i really mean that. I was charging my Droid X2 twice a day & the thunderbolt battery in my opinion was worse then my droid x2.

Right now I have the Verizon Xperia Play & I love it. The battery life is outstanding eve with hard txting, twitter, facebook & browsing use. If I had to pick something 4G it would not be the thunderbolt unless u like charging all the time.
