Fans (and wanna-be fans) of CD Projekt RED's The Witcher franchise have been craving a console port of the punishing, mature RPG ever since the first game won the hearts of critics back in 2007.
Well, today CD Project RED revealed that the recently-released (and now formerly PC-exclusive) The Witcher 2: Assassin's of Kings is on its way to the Xbox 360 later this year.

im sure not all console gamers are bad, but they have ruined gaming with the lack of ability to think, and need for instant gratification. WHERE DO I GO THERE IS NO X ON MY MINIMAP?! WHAT DO I DO, THE BOSS DOESNT HAVE A GLOWING WEAKNESS, HOW AM I SUPPOSE TO KNOW WHEN AND WHERE TO ATTACK?!
Speaking to the internet, representatives from CD Projekt Red claimed that the console version would sport graphics very near if not at the quality level found in the PC release. In addition, all DLC updates released for the PC version prior to the Xbox 360 launch will be included in the new version.
And this is the patch other developers should follow, PC first than consoles not other way around.
But I'd rather keep games like Witcher 2 PC only , when CD Projekt Red will see how crappy games they can sell on the consoles and make loads of cash ......... well think about it yourselves why go all out and make a great game if you can sell some POS title every year and still make good money.
Games like Witcher 2 are special because they are PC only and it should stay this way.
I can live with this.. Ports are like image files.
If you've got a small picture with average quality (console origin), increasing it's size and stretching it will only degrade the quality and you end up with a bunch of fugly pixels.
But if you downsize a great image, it would only lose quality to minimally levels, resulting in still a fine image, but, smaller.
That's my graphic designer way of looking at it and I hope the future is full of it.
Sounds good to me. It would be stupid to miss out on the revenue of releasing the game on consoles but as long as they stick to PC port, it's all good.

I can already feel the comments of people laughing at us paying "$1600" rigs just to run this on a "19in screen" while they can sit on the couch playing it in "HD" "1080p" which btw does not have the capability to display their native resolution because they are cheap f..."42in LCD displays" that looks "just as good on the pc"
Good for them i guess , im pretty sure we're going to lose all our exclusives at some point at this rate save maybe for RTS and MMO games while consoles get to keep their exclusivity.Ain't that a kick in the
Now i really don't have a game to take pride as a PC gamer anymore.
Not really a whine post but this needs to be said.
It's not like a port to consoles was unexpected. They've been saying since the beginning that consoles would get a port after the PC version was finished.
The first Witcher was supposed to be on consoles too until they had decided that resources would've been better spent on a sequel.
You really think I'm the only one who think so? I lol at the fact that not many of y'all played the first witcher and then all these new fans comes along and will defend the second game to the death for some reason even though there are legitimate issues. If you think the controls and the game wasn't designed for console control, then I lol at your naivety.
