THIS! Is the only problem, NONE of this bull%^$@ would be happening if Sony had a decent network.

Bingo. These hackers are getting absolutely out of hand. They think, somehow, that by stealing our information, they are doing us justice?

For some reason I think Apple and Microsoft have partnered up to hack the life out of Sony until it goes bankrupt.

Nope, they just don't care. Anon was acting with that purpose in head(s), but all they did is messing with the PSN and Sony's websites. The others (stealing infos etc.) are just criminals taking advantage of Sony's incompetent IT security team.

It's still Sony's fault. Why do they hack Sony? because they saw how weak their security is.

At some point you have to blame Sony for the lack of security, and effort put into keeping date secure. They know they are a company at high risk of attack. Yet they seem to just think they can tell people they fixed the problem. Without taking the time to go through all there assets and fix the problem. Its their way of thinking that is the costly mistake. Sony owes it to the user to keep their data secure not the hackers.

The thing that hits me most is that they were stored in plain text. I have trouble beliving that actually, it's that bad.

I believe in some countries that "data protection" is actually a law.
