4 bay Drobo and streaming

Thread Starter
I recently bought a 4 bay Drobo with four 1.5TB drives from my friend for $200 (I couldn’t resist for that price) I have been using it as a network drive to watch all of my TV shows and movies to wirelessly stream everything to my HTPC in the living room and bedroom. I have been using the USB connection on the Drobo unit attached to my main PC; my main PC is a Q6600 with 4gigs of ram and an 8800GTX. Every now and then while watching a TV show or movie the picture will freeze or become pixilated and then the picture will correct its self. My question is if I switch the connection from USB to Firwire 800, will I see any difference? Meaning, will the picture still freeze or become pixilated? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks for any help given.

Oh and both of my HTPC's have a Q6600, Windows 7, 4gigs of ram, and either a 1 GB ddr3 or 768mb ddr3 video card. I know it’s not the specs of any of the computers.
