Should I use the sticky side adhesive for the H50? Or is it truly necessary?

While browsing through some forums, I've read that people were having a difficult time removing their H50 because it felt like it was glued to the mobo when they used the adhesive. I tried it the first time with the adhesive, and I was able to remove it without too much problems. I just had to use a tiny bit of force. Didn't break anything.

However, to prepare for the long-term, should I use these adhesive pads? Or put the sticker back on them so they're there for cushioning, but it won't necessarily stick to the mobo? I am just afraid after awhile, they'll become glue-like. But at the same time, I want to follow Corsair's instructions so the H50 backplate is stable and does not move.

Any suggestions?

peel off one side of the adhesive tape so that it sticks to the backplate, but will not adhere to the motherboard. I do the same with all of my heatsinks and waterblocks that come with a backplate that has double sided adhesive tape on it. That way the insulation pad does not slide around when mounting, nor will it be glued to the motherboard if and when you decide to remove the cooler and/or backplate.

I used the sticky pads on mine. Dont really think ill be needing to take off the cooler anytime soon, and by the time im ready for a different setup, ill just build a new rig. I would say if you have any thoughts about taking it off, DONT use the pads. the adhesive is pretty strong and i dont think they will be coming off too easily.

I have the Kuhler 620 which uses the same mounting system, and I chose not to use it since I wanted to be able to easily remove the system at a later period if I decided to.
